Five 911 calls came in to the Alaska State Troopers and the Anchorage Police Department in quick succession early on Friday morning reporting a dangerous driver.
Callers reported that the person driving a 1998 Buick Century was possibly impaired while driving on the Trunk Road near the Parks Highway at approximately 1 am on Friday.
Troopers responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle and observed the driver of the vehicle execute several moving violations. Troopers pulled the vehicle over and contacted the driver.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Anchorage resident Janet Zello. Troopers determined that Zello was driving under the influence of controlled substances and placed her under arrest.
Troopers would find, subsequent to the arrest, that Zello also in possession of controlled substances and so in addition to the DUI charges, Zello was also charged with MICS IV.
Zello was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where she was remanded without bail pending arraignment.
