Emmonak Man Shoots Self in the Foot During Intoxicated Argument

image19-05-2014 12.09.05An Emmonak man is in custody and charged with Assault III, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon, after a Sunday incident where he became unruly and eventually shot himself in the foot.

The trooper dispatch reported that on Sunday, troopers received a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound in the village. A trooper based in Saint Mary’s responded to the community to investigate.

Upon his arrival, the trooper discovered that 55-year-old Kenneth Paul, while intoxicated, got into an argument with a female at his residence. As the argument escalated, Paul retrieved a firearm and began firing it in the home.

The woman was able to escape from the residence without injury, but during the course of gunfire, Paul managed to shoot himself in the foot.

Paul received medical attention for his injury, then was taken into custody by troopers.
