Fairbanks-based Alaska State Troopers contacted a Fairbanks man wanted on multiple warrants after receiving a tip at 9:30 pm on Tuesday night the trooper dispatch revealed.
It was late evening when troopers attempted to contact 43-year-old Robert Garma III after receiving a tip. But, instead of cooperating with troopers, Garma chose to attempt to flee, but was unsuccessful. When that didn’t work, Garma gave troopers false information as to his identity, troopers revealed via trooper dispatch.
But, troopers were able to ascertain that the man that they had contacted, was indeed, Garma, who was wanted on two outstanding warrants issued on the original charges of “Sexual Assault I, Kidnapping, Assault III, Assault IV, and Violating a Protective Order,” troopers say. The warrants were issued when Garma failed to appear for Calendar Call to schedule a trial and violated a protective order in January 2014.
As a result of his arrest, troopers transported Garma to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, where he was remanded without bail.
