MOUNTAIN VILLAGE-Early Thursday morning, at 3:15 am, Alaska State troopers received a report from the village of Mountain Village that a vehicle had rolled over and the driver had sustained fatal injuries.
According to reports, Keith DelaRosa, age 21, had been driving 2005 F-150 pickup truck at high speed on the Airport road in the community. The vehicle left the road and had rolled several times. Neither the driver, DelaRosa nor the passenger, Kevin Thompson, age 22, were wearing seat-belts. DelaRosa was ejected from the vehicle through the driver side window and died instantly from head injuries.
The passenger in the vehicle, Thompson, received minor, non-life threatening injuries, and was held for observations by health officials in the village. Both DelaRosa and Thompson resided in Mountain Village.
The State Examiners Office is assisting in the on-going investigation. It is reported that alcohol and high speed were contributing factors in the accident. Next of kin has been notified.
