Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell issued the following statement in honor of Memorial Day.

“As we approach Memorial Day, many Alaska families plan on taking an extra day off to enjoy the bounty and freedom of our Great Land. During this time, let’s be sure to honor the memory of our military men and women who lost their lives in battle. The warriors who have died on behalf of our nation purchased our freedom with their lives. And we will not forget their sacrifice.”

“For all those on duty here at home and overseas, we thank you for your service. We pray for your safety. And we pledge our support to you and your families. Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Be safe. And may God continue to bless our great nation.”
