November 21, 2012, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell issued the following message in recognition of Thanksgiving Day:
“When we think of Thanksgiving, it’s natural to look forward to the time we spend with family or friends. Whether it’s turkey, or salmon, caribou, whale meat, or moose, sharing food with each other is just one of the blessings we appreciate during this time of year. It’s also a time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.
“As I look around this great state, I’m reminded that we Alaskans have so many unique opportunities. And our future as a state is bright. I hope you and your family or friends have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. And to our troops, whether stationed here in Alaska or overseas, we’re thinking about you, and we are grateful for your service.”
