About 7:30 pm Saturday evening, Grant Aviation put in a call to the Alaska State Troopers posted in Emmonak that one of their planes had gone down.
The aviation company reported that their aircraft, piloted by Coday McCall had crashed about 4.1 miles south of Emmonak. McCall was the only person on the plane.

The trooper investigation into the incident revealed that McCall suffered mechanical problems and was forced to make an emergency landing. McCall was not injured in the unscheduled landing.
Weather conditions along the Yukon River prohibited a rescue crew to go to the aid of McCall that night. McCall spent the night at the scene.
On Sunday, two boats from Emmonak were able to get to the area ten miles inland from the Bering Sea at 1 pm and pick up McCall.
