Alaska State Troopers were alerted of several assaults in Kalskag last Friday.
Troopers responded to investigate the report in the small community to find that Robert Reed, age 22, of Kalskag, had assaulted another individual while drinking. Additionally, Reed assaulted a family member before smashing out that person’s windows in their vehicle.
It was after this that Reed, now mobile, tried to run over a pedistrian walking along the road.
As the night progressed, Reed, wielding an ax, tried to break down the door of a member of his family. The door was destroyed in the attempt. Three individuals were in the residence at the time, one family member and two visitors.
Alaska State Troopers arrested Reed on charges of Assault III DV, Assault III x 3, Assault IV, Assault IV, Criminal Mischief III DV, and Criminal Mischief IV DV.
Reed was transported by the troopers to Bethel, where he was remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center where he was held without bail.
