Kenai Man Arrested on Felony No Bail Warrant after Seatbelt Stop

A Kenai man was arrested on a felony no bail warrant after a routine “No Seat Belt” stop on the Sterling Highway on Sunday evening, trooper’s report.

Alaska State Troopers, with the Bureau Highway Patrol on the Kenai Peninsula, pulled over a white 1994 Ford Escort after observing the occupants of the vehicle were not wearing their seatbelts at approximately 7 PM on Sunday evening at the Robinson Loop area of the Sterling Highway.

The trooper investigation at the scene revealed that a passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Christopher J. Diehl had an outstanding Kenai Police Department Felony No Bail Warrant for the original charge of Robbery I, Burglary I, Assault III, and Misconduct Involving Weapons III.

Diehl was arrested without incident, and transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded without bail.
