A Ketchikan man was arrested on Assault IV Domestic Violence, Assault III x2, and Resisting Arrest after an incident on Tuesday on the 2000 block of the South Tongass Highway in Ketchikan.
According to the trooper dispatch, 25-year-old Ketchikan resident Gregory Bird was reported to authorities after assaulting a 15-year-old member of his family on Tuesday.
When troopers responded to the scene, Bird had already fled the area.
When Alaska State Troopers located Bird at an industrial yard in the area, Bird brandished an axe at the troopers.
Even though Bird resisted arrest, troopers were able to take him under control.
Bird was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was remanded on the charges.
