41-year-old Kwethluk resident, Eddie Pasitnak was arrested on October 1st in Kwethluk by Alaska State Troopers.

Pasitnak was arrested on charges of Assault II and two counts of Assault III after an investigation of an incident that Pasitnak had with his girlfriend.

It was reported Monday, October 1st, that Pasitnak had strangled his girlfriend causing her physical injury. She was strangled to the point of unconsciousness.

Pasitnak has an extensive criminal history involving assaults. Court records show Pasitnak has eight previous charges of Assault on his record as well as Weapons Misconduct charges. Because Pasitnak has had at least two previous convictions of Assault IV in the last ten years, occurring as recently as 2010, Pasitnak had charges upgraded to Asssault III.

Pasitnak was arrested and remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.
