On Wednesday, a Fairbanks woman called in and reported an assault. Alaska State Troopers investigated the incident and made an arrest in the case.

At approximately 5:16 pm on wwednesday, troopers recceived a report of an assault at a Fairbanks residence. The female caller reported that she had been assaulted by 22-year-old Fairbanks resident Joe Hinojosa. Their investigation into the incident revealed that Hinojosa had assaulted the woman as well as destroyed property at the residence.

During their investigation, troopers contacted Hinojosa by phone. During the call, Hinjosa agreed to turn himself in to authorities.

Hinojosa was arrested on charges of Assault IV (Domestic Violence), Criminal Miscief V, and also an outstanding Parole Warrant out of Texas.

Hinojosa was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded on those charges.
