Man Dies Behind Wheel at Big Lake Intersection

ASTpatch_New copy copyOn Thursday afternoon, troopers received to a report of a man slumped over the steering wheel at the intersection of Northshore Drive and Buoyant Drive in Big Lake.

According to the trooper dispatch, two witnesses to the unresponsive man pulled the man, identified as 56-year-old Big Lake man Alton Chisum, from the vehicle and began providing CPR.

When Medics arrived at the scene, they took over from the two men and began performing CPR on Chisum. But, the medics were unsuccessful in their attempts, and Chisum was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Chisum’s next of kin was notified and the State Medical Examiner responded and took possession of Chisum’s remains for autopsy.

Not foul play is suspected in Chisum’s death.
