The Fulton County Medical Examiner in Georgia identified the man hit in a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident as 29-year-old Michael George of Anchorage.
Fulton County police are still trying to determine why it was that George stepped out into the traffic on Fulton Industrial Boulevard early Friday morning at 3:45am. That question may never be answered.

George was struck by a Pontiac Grand Prix in front of the Majestic Lodge just north of Martin Luther King Drive.
The driver of the Grand Prix stopped and rendered aid to the mortally wounded George. But, unfortunately, George died at the scene.
According to the Fulton police, alcohol was not a factor, neither was the driver speeding. No charges have been filed in the incident but the investigation is continueing. The name of the driver has not been released.
