Anchorage Police are looking for 21 year-old Bukurim Miftari in connection with the violent assault of Kristen Reid who was found clinging to life in a ditch on Fairbanks Street yesterday morning.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Miftari and Reid had been in a domestic relationship that Reid was trying to end.
Officers tracked Miftari to the area of Old Seward and Grange Streets at about 9 p.m. last night. The Alaska State Troopers “Helo 1” helicopter assisted officers with aerial support while K-9s conducted ground searches; however, Miftari managed to elude apprehension.
Miftari has been charged with Attempted Murder 1, Assault 1, Kidnapping and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Police believe Miftari will attempt to flee Alaska. He may also seek assistance from friends and relatives in the Anchorage area. Police are advising that anyone harboring or assisting Miftari could be subject to criminal prosecution for hindering a police investigation. Miftari is considered armed and dangerous. If you have information as to the whereabouts of Bukurim Miftari, call 911.
Kristen Reid remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
