While investigating an unrelated case on early Monday, police inadvertently located a man that was wanted in the death of another that occurred outside of the Panhandle Bar in downtown Anchorage.
While investigating a possible arson case, police came upon 39-year-old Kenneth Moto, who has been sought by police since the fighting death of 36-year-old Daniel Stewart, who was injured outside of the bar at 3 am on April 19th. Stewart died three days later in the hospital.
Also injured in the early morning altercation outside the bar was a woman. She was injured so badly, she had to have her jaw wired and also had to undergo reconstructive surgery.
When found, Moto was hiding in a shed in mid-town Anchorage.
Moto was arraigned on charges of Manslaughter, Assault I, and Assault III on Monday afternoon in an Anchorage court.
