On Tuesday, July 24th, the Mat-Su Drug Unit served a search warrant in connection with an investigation that they were conducting on drug distribution.

The warrant was served at a residence off of Wasilla Fishhook at 3 pm in the afternoon.

When the investigators entered the residence, a man identified as 33-year-old Chad Copelin was destroying evidence.

The investigators subdued Copelin and a search of the residence was initiated. The search of the premisis resulted in the seizure of heroin, methamphetamine,marijuana, scales, packaging materials, surveillance equipment, cash and a handgun.

Copelin was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer and his bail was set a $25,000.
