ANCHORAGE, ALASKA-The identity of the man who killed his supervisor at the Millennium Motel on October 29th around 6:30 pm has been verified through fingerprints. He was believed to be Victor Rodriguez Flores at the time of the incident. Police now know him as Javier Antonio Martinez.
Martinez is a convicted felon who has been previously deported by immigration officials. He was indicted by an Anchorage Grand Jury on Tuesday for the first degree murder of Kerry Fadely, age 55.
Martinez had gotten into a dispute with Fadely about a week before the shooting occurred. He was fired over the incident. He returned to the motel on October 29th with a .45 caliber pistol. It was then that he shot Fadely.
Martinez had gained employment at the hotel under the assumed name. He had previously been sought under the assumed name as a fugitive from justice, but those charges were later dropped. The details of that warrant or the crimes that he was convicted of under his real name have not been made public.
The search for Martinez closed Spenard Road and the area around the Millenium Motel for about four hours. He was later apprehended after returning to his home after spending time at a bar.
