A minor earthquake shook Alaska's largest city this evening as people were getting off work
A 4.01 magnitude quake rattled Alaska’s metropolitan area at 5:02 pm on Tuesday. The quake was located 15 miles east-northeast of the city, just 2 miles northeast of Eagle River. The earthquake occurred 20 miles beneath the surface and did not generate any tsunami according to the Tsunami Warning Center.
The small shaker was felt throughout the South-Central Metropolitan area and as far north as Palmer.
There were no reports of damage from the quake.
