Jared Walker, the man who was the subject of an intense search and rescue effort by the communities of Kotzebue, Noorvik, Kiana and Selawik for two days has been located according to trooper dispatch.
They report that Walker was spotted by an aircraft searching for him on Tuesday afternoon at 1:42 pm. After being initally located, searchers on snowmachines traveled to the creek bed 7 miles northeast of Kiana where had been spotted. Once there, they confirmed that it was the missing Walker. Walker was then transported from the area.
When found, he was uninjured.
Walker became the subject of an intense search when he failed to show up in Selawik after he departed Kiana on Sunday. On Monday searchers were dispatched from Kotzebue, Noorvik, Kiana and Selawik and troopers sent out an aircraft to locate the missing man.
