Reports came out earlier today that authorities had identified and arrested a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings.
With that news, several hundred reporters, photographers, and spectators flocked to the Federal Courthouse on Boston’s waterfront as news came out that an arrest had been made and the person in custody was headed to the court.

A bomb threat at the courthouse was received and at 3:15 pm a bomb squad arrived at the scene and the building was evacuated as K-9 Units went in.
The press conference scheduled for 5 pm was cancelled.
The earlier reports of an arrest were attributed to CNN and the Boston Globe and the Associated Press picked up the erroneous report. Authorities have stated that although a suspect has been identified, no arrests in the case have been made.
The three news organizations have backed away from their stories.
