A Nikiski man was jailed and held without bail following a firearms-related incident that took place early Friday morning, troopers reported this morning.
Troopers responded to an Opal Street address after receiving a report of a disturbance involving alcohol and firearms at half past midnight. When they arrived at the scene of the disturbance, AST contacted 37-year-old Jeremy Bichler and found that he had “engaged in a confrontation” with two other Opal Street residents.
As the confrontation became heated, Bichler went inside his home and retrieved a handgun. He returned outside and continued in the dispute and at one point discharged his weapon. No one was injured by Bichler’s actions.
Troopers took Bichler into custody and transported him to Kenai where he was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility on charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons II, III, IV, two counts of Assault III, and one count of DUI.
He was held without bail pending arraignment.
