A Nikiski woman was arrested on Attempted Murder charges on Monday after troopers responded to a call from a motorist that reported that they had been shot at.
A person reported that they had been shot at while driving near Island Lake Road in Nikiski at approximately 7:52 pm on Monday evening. Multiple State Trooper units responded to the scene and canvassed the area shortly after the report came in.
A short time later, troopers would identify 31-year-old Alice Gray as a suspect in the shooting incident.
After contacting and interviewing the Nikiski woman, she would tell troopers that she had indeed fired several rounds at the motorist. She told troopers she had been walking alongside the road and had shot into the vehicle as the motorist “passed her on the roadway because she thought he was driving recklessly,” trooper dispatch reports.
Despite being shot at with a .45 caliber handgun, the motorist reported no injuries. His vehicle would be found to have three bullet holes.
Gray was arrested on Attempted Murder II charges and transported to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility where she was held without bail.
The weapon used in the incident was recovered by troopers.
