North Pole Woman Responds to Scene of Hit and Run and is Arrested for DUI

Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene of a hit and run near the intersection of Badger and Old Badger Roads in Saturday.

On scene, troopers took a report from a juvenile male who told officers that he was driving his mountain bike  at the location when he was struck by an adult male on a 2010 blue Yamaha Raptor 700 R.

The four-wheeler operator had left the scene after knocking the juvenile over.

The victim of the hit and run suffered a wrist injury as a result of the incident, but refused medical treatment for his injury.

During the course of the trooper investigation, 67-year-old North Pole resident Pamela Starnes arrived on the scene to check on the victim. Alaska State Troopers determined that Starnes was under the influence of alcohol when she drove to the scene and so was arrrested on DUI charges. She was taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where she was remanded.

The investigation into the hit and run is continuing.
