Passenger Bolts and Wasilla Driver Drives Away during REDDI Stop

AST reports that the Wasilla driver of a vehicle escaped from them and drove off while they chased down a passenger on Sunday night.

Troopers contacted two people at  the Holiday gas station on the Parks Highway at mile 49 at 9:57 pm on Sunday night according to the trooper dispatch. They had contacted the driver and the passenger in the vehicle after receiving a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report.

According to troopers, the investigation into the REDDI report soon became larger after cannabis was also found in the vehicle. Troopers identified the driver of the vehicle as 19-year-old Levi Skulstad. During the investigation, troopers also spoke with the passenger in the vehicle, but that individual reportedly gave troopers false information about his identity.

The then unidentified passenger bolted from the scene and AST gave chase, ultimately catching the runner in quick manner.

But, by the time AST got back to the starting point at the gas station, they found that Skulstad had fled the scene in his 2003 Chevy Impala. Troopers report that they were unable to locate the fleeing driver.

Troopers would eventually identify the passenger who fled the scene on foot as 20-year-old Rashid Glasco. An investigation into Glasco would find that he had an “outstanding felony warrant for unlawful evasion,” troopers say. Glasco was transported, to and remanded at, the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility for the felony arrest warrant and new charges of False information. His bail was set at $1,500 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.

AST stated that Charges of Hindering Prosecution I and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office on Skulstad.
