Alaska State Troopers responded aboard the patrol vessel Cama'i to a 911 call that they received reporting that the M/V Bethany-B had lost power and was adrift.

It was reported that the vessel was adrift in the vicinty of the Ouzinkie Narrows near Spruce Island. The vessel had three people aboard.
A passing vessel, the M/V Glacier Wind was also in the vicinty and responded to a flare released from the Bethany-B. The U.S. Coast Guard also launched a MH-60 helicopter in response to the flare. The good samaritan vessel assisted the stricken vessel until the trooper patrol boat arrived on the scene.
When the Cama’i arrived, they placed the Bethany-B under tow and assisted them to Sunny Cove on Spruce Island. troopers transported two of the three boaters back to Kodiak. The third remained with the vessel and made arrangments for repair and recovery work.
