On Sunday evening, at approximately 8 p.m., while on patrol near mile post 81 of the Parks Highway in Willow, Alaska State troopers saw a 2002 Jeep Cherokee stranded along the road. Trooper stopped to render assistance.
When troopers contacted the driver of the vehicle, the driver initially identified herself using a false name. Through their investigation, troopers were able to ascertain the true name of the driver, and identified her as 30-year-old Krystal Iacono on Fairbanks.
Further trooper investigation would find that Iacono was also in possession of a controlled substance.
Troopers would also find that Iacono was in violation of her felony probation from the original charge of Theft I and MICS IV.
Troopers placed Iacono under arrest and charged her with MICS V, Making a False Report, and probation violation, before transporting her to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer where she was remanded with no bail set.
