Yesterday evening, Sunday, April 29th, at about 5:47 pm,, Alaska State troopers were notified of an aircraft crash that took place on the Knik River.
Troopers and EMS responded to the scene to find a Piper Super Cub crash site.
Their investigation concluded that the Piper crashed shortly after take-off from a Knik River sandbar.
The pilot, an unnamed 16-year-old, was taken to Mat-Su Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.
Although the details of the crash were unavailable, the authorities said that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash.
