Retired USAF sergeant John Jaramillo has added his name to the list of contenders for Senator Begich’s seat in the U.S. Senate.
With Jaramillo filing to run in the upcoming election, there are now four Republicans vying for the primary win. The other Republican candidates are Lt Governor Mead Treadwell, the former Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources Dan Sullivan, and Joe Miller. Miller made a previous attempt for a U.S. Senate seat in the election for a Senate seat, but lost to write-in Lisa Murkowski in the 2010 General Election.
In a Public Policy Polling survey done earlier this month, Jaramillo garnered only 3% of the nod from 582 registered voters during the poll period between May 8tth and May 11th.
Meanwhile, Dan Sullivan continues to gain ground in the Primary race, he polled at 40% compared to the second place Republican contender Mead Treadwell.
Mark Begich continues to outpace all of his Republican adversaries, leading Sullivan by 19 points.
