Just a week after an Anchorage Grand Jury handed down an indictment against Riek William Gat, implicated in the August 22nd slaying of Michael Mitchell on Campbell Airstrip Road, he is now in custody, Anchorage Police report.
With the assistance of U.S. Marshals, Gat was located all the way on the other side of the country, in West Virginia.
Gat is suspected of being an accomplice in the shooting death of Mitchell and has been indicted on Murder I and Murder II charges. He, along with 18-year-old Kutay Bangout were implicated in the crime.
Several gunshots were heard in the area at 8:25 am on August 22nd, and Mitchell was found lying on his back on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head at 8:30 am.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
