Police are investigating a multiple shooting that occurred in the parking lot of the Sunshine Mall in downtown Anchorage on early Saturday morning. Three people were injured in the shooting.
Two men and one woman were wounded by an as yet unidentified shooter on Saturday. The 22-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen, one man suffered an abdominal wound, while the other suffered from a wound to the leg.
No names have been released in the ongoing investigation.
The incident had its beginning at the Club Soraya in downtown Anchorage at about 2:30 am Saturday morning. Club employees say that the club had to shut down and turn on the lights after a fight between two men broke out at the club. After leaving the downtown club, the fight continued in the parking lot of the Sunshine Mall that drew in approximately 60 people.
At some point, about 20 shots rang out in the parking lot and injured three of the people there.
Police are releasing very little information as their investigation into the incident is ongoing. No arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information, to call the department at 786-8900.
