Mat-Su’s State-wide Drug Enforcement Unit, SDEU-Mat-Su, a unit of the Alaska State Troopers, responded to a suspected secret meth lab in a storage unit in Wasilla on Thursday afternoon.
When the Alaska State Troopers Clandestine Lab Certified Investigators with SDEU-Mat-Su and SDEU-WAANT and the Special Crimes Investigations Unit, got to the scene, their investigation would find that the clandestine lab was being used to manufacture Dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, a powerful hallucinogenic compound.
DMT manufacture is the synthesizing of the powerful drug that has been used for thousands of years by indigenous tribes of South America. The compound itself is otherwise known as the “Jesus Drug,” or “God Drug,” and many users of the compound say it is less hallucinogenic and more of a spiritual drug that enables the user the ability to enter a different dimension inaccessible to humans without the compound.
DMT is listed as a Schedule I drug in the U.S.
People making the drug, the cooks, use many of the same materials to manufacture DMT that are used to manufacture Methamphetamine, many of those materials are hazardous.
After the investigators documented the operation, it was eradicated, and a professional HAZMAT company was employed to clean up the waste materials that resulted in the operation and taking down of the lab.
Troopers have identified the suspect connected with the lab, they report that the individual has been arrested on unrelated probation and theft charges.
Once lab results have been received, troopers will be forwarding charges of Misconduct involving a Controlled Substance II to the District Attorney’s office.
