Trooper dispatch announced the sentencing of the Saint Marys man who was involved in a three-hour-long stand-off with troopers in June of 2013.
Court records show that 32-year-old Franklin Gregory was sentenced on January 8th after conviction for the incident that occurred on June 20, when Gregory was the subject of a three-hour stand-off that resulted after Gregory was reported for pointing a rifle at several family members. Gregory also fired rounds off inside the residence prior to trooper arrival.
Gregory was eventually taken into custody by troopers who responded to the incident, ,and charged with DV Assault III x2, DV Assault III by priors x2, MIW IV x3. He was transported to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center and remanded with bail set at $250,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
After suspended time of seven years was deducted from Greegory’s sentence, Gregory was ordered to serve five years, 265 days in jail. Gregory was also ordered to undergo five years of supervised release after serving his time. He was fined $600 and his rifle was also seized.
