Alaska State Troopers reported today that they arrested a Shageluk man over the weekend for an incident on Friday.
Ezra Golilie, age 19 of Shageluk was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault III X4, Domestic Violence IV, and Misconduct involving a Weapon IV for a Friday incident.
According to trooper reports, Golilie was very intoxicated on Friday when he threatened a family member with a rifle. During that time he also threatened to burn down the house.
Shortly thereafter, Golilie went to another family member’s house anf frightened the residents there with a .44 Magnum. during that time, he also threatened to kill himself. This caused the residents to leave the house and they slept elsewhere that night.
After the incident, Golilie apparently fell asleep and woke the next day, at which time he was arrested and transported to Aniak. He is waiting there until weather conditions allow him to be transported to Bethel and remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
Shageluk has a population of 83. The village is located on the east bank of the Innoko River, 20 miles east of Anvik and 34 miles northwest of Holy Cross.
