LOS ANGELES-Sherwood Schwartz, writer and creator of shows such as the Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island, passed away with his wife by his side today in Los Angeles. He was 94.

Born on November 14th, 1916, he began his entertainment career as a writer for the Bob Hope Radio Show in 1938, he would work there until 1942. Through the 1940s, Schwartz would write comedy for the radio version of Ozzy and Harriet. He would move from there to writing for the “I Married Joan” series on NBC.

By 1963, Sherwood had moved on to supervising scripts for “My Favorite Martian,” then by 1964 he was producing and writing for “Gilligan’S Island. Then did the same for the “Brady Bunch from 1969-1974.

After his time wityth those all time favorites, Schwartz went on to do shows such as “Dusty’s Trail,” “Big John, Little John.” “Harper Valley PTA,” and “together We Stand,” and the 2004 special, “Still Brady After All These Years.” In 2006 his play “Rockers” opened at Theatre West.

In March of 2008, Sherwood Schwartz received a star on the Hollywood Walk od Fame.
