Authorities say that the Sunday attack at the Sikh Temple near the city of Milwaukee may have been a hate crime or act of domestic terror as invstigators release the identity of the shooter that killed six temple members.
Investigators said Monday, the the man who gunned down six innocent people in the Sikh temple south of Milwaukee in the community of Oak Creek, has been identified as 40-year-old Wade Michael Page. Page was shot and killed by police at the scene.
Page was identified as a former U.S. Army soldier, who after six years of service during the 1990s, was less than honorably discharged.
Investigators into the incident report that Page had many tatoos on his body, including one that said “9-11,” the date of the horrible events of 2001.

Page, it was discovered through investigations, was the leader of a racist, white-power rock band called “End Empathy.” He was described by the Southern Poverty Law Group as a “frustrated Neo-Nazi.”
Although Sikhs had nothing to do with 9/11, many misidentify members of the 500-year-old monotheistic religion as islamic because of their custom to wear beards and turbans.
India’s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, called the shootings a “dastardly attack,” and stated, “It is a very sad occasion, senseless killings of people who gathered together in a religious congregation.”
Three others were wounded in the shootings, including one officer that traded shots with the gunman before being killed by another officer.
