Alaska State Troopers in Palmer responded to a REDDI report informing them of a driver asleep behind the wheel in Palmer at 6:50 am on May 30th.
Troopers responded to the scene, and found the driver, they identified as 18-year-old Palmer resident Tristan Boyd. When they contacted Boyd, he was still asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle. When they investigated his condition, they found him to be DUI. He was also found to be under the age of 21. He was charged with DUI and Minor Consuming Alcohol.
Further investigation of the vehicle would find that Boyd had four handguns in the vehicle. Three of which were behind the driver’s seat and one of which was located in the center console.
The discovery of the firearms resulted in a further charge of Misconduct Involving a Firearm IV.
Boyd was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with his bail set at $1,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
