Southcentral Alaska was home to another earthquake this evening at 4:42 pm.
The long rolling quake shook continuously for over a minute with a long slow roll. It began very quietly, built to a perceptable roll then continued in magnitude slowing and then speeding up again just before dinnertime in the busiest part of Alaska.
The quake was felt throughout the region including the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula.

The National Weather Service West Coast Alaska Tsunami Center immediately released an information statement with an evaluation that there was no Tsunami danger from the quake.
The quake occurred at a depth of 36 miles. It was centered aproximately 34 miles to the west of Anchorage across Cook Inlet. It was also 20 miles to the Northeast of Tyonek, a small native community on the western shores of the inlet.
Two smaller aftershocks measuring 2.6 and2.8 occurred 8 and 9 minutes later respectively in the same vicinity. These two miles closer to Tyonek.
No injuries or damage was reported in the quake or the aftershocks.
