NEW STUYAHOK, Alaska-On Wednesday, December 7th, at about 9:42 pm, the Alaska State troopers in Dillingham received a report from the Village Public Safety Officer in New Stuyahok of a disturbance at the local Senior Center.

According to reports, the VPSOs contacted Moxie Andrew III, age 18. He ran from the authorities, and entered his parent’s residence at the center. After locking himself in the residence, Andrew yelled through the door, telling the VPSO that he had a gun and would shoot them if they attempted to apprehend him.

Upon hearing this, the officers backed away from the residence. Moments later, Andrew came out of the residence, pointing a weapon at the officers. The officers fled the building with Andrew close behind. Andrew then fired two rounds in the direction of the VPSOs.

Upon news of this, five Alaska State troopers responded to the community. At a bout 3 am, Alaska State troopers made entry into the building and then the residence where Andrew was. They apprehended him without further incident.

The Alaska State troopers returned to Dillingham with Andrew in custody, where he was remanded to the Dillingham jail. He was charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, Misconduct involving a Weapon in the Second Degree, two counts of Assault in the Third Degree, Misonduct Involving a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, two counts of Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct and MCA.

Andrew was arraigned yesterday in Dillingham. The judge set his bail at $100,000 plus a third party custodian. As the investigation continues, troopers say that further charges may be leveled at Andrew.
