The trooper dispatch reports that a Sutton man was arrested on charges of Assault III DV x2 and Assault IV DV on Wednesday after the troopers received a call from the Office of Children’s  Services reporting harm involving a minor.

32-year-old Kenji Thao was arrested after the trooper investigation revealed that he had assaulted an underage family member by suffocating them and covering their nose and mouth with his hand. The investigation also showed that Thao had strangled the family member with a belt and hit them causing injury.

The assaulted minor was treated by medical personnel for their injuries, troopers stated.

Thao was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where he was held without bail
