TANACROSS, Alaska – At about four o'clock yesterday afternoon,Alaska State troopers in Tok received a 911 call reporting a snowmachine accident in Tanacross.
After responding to the village, the Alaska State troopers initiated an investigation into the incident. Their investigation showed that Karl L. Martin Junior, age 42, of Tanacross, Alaska, lost control of a 1998 Ski- Doo 670 Summit X and struck a utility pole. Martin was transported to the Tok medical clinic by Tok emergency medical service. He was in critical condition.
From the clinic he was medevaced to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.Martin died from his injuries while in the hospital.
The investigation by the Alaska State troopers is ongoing.
