Thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and property were stolen from a Tok gift shop earlier this week.

On Wednesday, at 8 am, Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene after receiving a call from the Snowshoe Gift Shop/Jack Wade Gold Store on the Alaska Highway, informing the troopers of a burglary.
An investigation into the incident at milepost 1314 of the Alaska Highway found that burglars forced their way into the establishment sometime prior to business hours Wednesday morning and stole thousands of dollars worth of precious jewelry, gems, handicrafts, knives, as well as a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum revolver.
Troopers are requesting assistance from the public in this case. They are asking anyone with information about the burglary to call the Alaska State Troopers at 883-5111.
