An Alaska State Trooper conducting a traffic stop on the Glenn Highway was struck from a following vehicle as he was making a turn trooper dispatch reports.
At 2:56 pm on Friday, a trooper, identified as Trooper Sergeant Benjamin Endres, was attempting to conduct a traffic stop at mile 179 of the Glenn Highway. As he was turning, with his lights activated, a minivan, that was following immediately behind him, struck him from behind, totaling both vehicles.
Trooper Endres suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Cross Road Medical Center. The driver of the minivan, identified as 52-year-old Canadian citizen, Paul Kerstane, was not injured in the accident, but all three passengers in the minivan were taken to the Cross Road Medical Center to be checked for injuries.
It was reported that seat belts were worn by all involved.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
