Kodiak-based Alaska State Troopers report that they responded to an armed incident in Old Harbor on Monday after receiving a call from the VPSO in that village.
The VPSO reported to the troopers at 4:46 pm that about 15 minutes earlier he had received a call from a 19-year-old resident of the community that stated that 53-year-old Peter Larionoff of Old Harbor had pointed a firearm at her. The teen reported that her and her 60-year-old grandmother were still in the residence at the time of the call.
Troopers immediately dispatched from Kodiak via a chartered aircraft and responded to Old Harbor.
Upon their arrival on the scene, troopers were able to assist in the evacuation of the teen and her grandmother from the residence. Shortly thereafter, troopers were able to take Larionoff into custody without incident.
The trooper investigation in Old Harbor would reveal that Larionoff, armed with a .22 caliber pistol, had pointed the weapon at the 19-year-old and “asked her if she wanted to die.”
Although Larionoff did not point the weapon at the 60-year-old grandparent, he did place her in fear due to his actions.
Larionoff was arrested and transported to Kodiak, where he was remanded to the Kodiak Jail.
Larionoff was charged with Domestic Violence III and IV and Misconduct Involving Weapons. He was remanded with no bail set.
