On August 15th, 2016, Bethel-based Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary and assault with a knife in the small community of Napaskiak and at once opened an investigation into the incident.
The AST investigation revealed that 42-year-old Wilson Beaver of that community entered a residence there and put a knife to the female complainant’s throat and demanded sex under the threat of violence. There were children present at the residence during the incident.
While the victim was able to get Beaver, a registered sex offender, out of the room, she suffered injuries as she did so. Beaver would flee the residence, the trooper report said.
Following the investigation, troopers located Beaver in the community of Atmautluak on September 4th. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Sexual Assault I and Sexual Assault II, Assault III, and Burglary I.
Troopers transported Beaver to Bethel, where he was remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
Beaver has several previous charges, including Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, multiple burglary convictions, and a Sexual Assault I conviction in 2002.
Beaver is due to be arraigned on the charges at 9:30 am on Monday morning. A long-term Protective Order Hearing will be held on September 8th.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
