Alaska State Troopers arrested a Wasilla man after a 3.5 hour stand-off in Wasilla on Monday night.
Troopers responded to a residence on North Tanana Street after receiving a report of multiple shots fired and possible victims at 10:02 pm on Monday.
When troopers arrived, the suspect in the house would not come to the door, and instead fired at the responding officers with several different types of weapons that included a compound hunting bow and a pellet gun.
After an hours-long stand-off with the suspect, who was later identified as 41-year-old Wasilla resident, Jose A. Pacheco, responded to negotiations and gave himself up. Pacheco was arrested without further incident and was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded on charges of seven counts of Assault III on Law Enforcement Officers.
After a brief investigation, it was found that there were no victims at the residence. None of the responding officers were injured in the incident.
Pacheco’s bail was set at $500,000. Pacheco remains in custody and is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 pm on Tuesday.
