Two Arrested in Big Lake after One Attempts to Flee

Early Sunday evening, a Big Lake man attempted to flee a contact by Alaska State Troopers after troopers responded to an investigation at Simon Court in Big Lake, trooper dispatch reports.

26-year-old Steven Sellars, ofr Big Lake, attempted to run from troopers at approximately 5:55 pm while troopers were in the area on an investigation, but was caught after a short foot pursuit.

When troopers checked on Sellars history, they would find that he had an outstanding warrant on the original charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons and multiple counts of Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances. Sellars was arrested at the scene on the charges.

Along with Sellars, troopers contacted 31-year-old Zoeanne Newhouse. Newhouse was found to have two outstanding warrants for Driving while License Revoked.

Both Newhouse and Sellars were transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where they were both remanded. Sellars bail was set at $20,000 and Newhouse was held without bail.
