A traffic stop was conducted by Alaska State Troopers on a blue Suzuki SUV early Monday morning at 4:11 am.
When the vehicle came to a stop, two men jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot.
As one of the suspects attempted to make good his escape, he was apprehended by the troopers. After a brief scuffle with the officers as he resisted arrest, the man gave false information to the troopers.

Once the identity of 31-year-old Jerome F Byrne from Wasilla was established, it was found that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest for MICS II, MICS IV, and Assault III. The total on the arrest warrants totaled $15,000.
The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Bethany E. Lawrence of Wasilla, was found to be hindering prosecution by providing false information as to the identity of the two passengers that were in her vehicle. She was arrested at the scene.
Both Byrne and Lawrence were transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Byrne was held without bail. Lawrence was held on $7,500 C/C bail.
The other individual that fled the scene was not apprehended.
