Las Vega police have combed through the Oak Tree apartment of the 20-something-year-old couple who opened fire on two police officers at the Cici’s pizza restaurant on late Sunday morning.
It was at approximately 11:20 am on Sunday that a man and a woman entered the pizza place and the woman walked up behind one of the officers and shot him in the back of the head, then turned and opened fire on the other officer as he was drawing his weapon. The second officer was able to return fire before collapsing from his wounds. That officer died later at the hospital. During this time they yelled, “This is the start of a revolution!”
After shooting the two officers, the two stripped the officers of their weapons and draped a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag over the officers. The couple then left Cici’s and walked to a nearby Walmart. On the way to the Walmart they told a passerby that they had just killed two cops in the restaurant.
Upon entering the Walmart, they opened up on another person, killing her. It is unknown at this time if that person was armed.
By this time, police were converging on the store, exchanged fire with the couple before the two fled further into the building. It is unknown whether the officers hit their targets, but a short time later shots could be heard in the back of the store.
When found, both shooters were dead from gunshot wounds. Law enforcement said that the woman shot and wounded her male counterpart before turning her weapon on herself. The man would kill himself after.
Because the couple carried duffle bags, a bomb squad was called in. There was a manifesto of sorts also found at the scene, the contents of the bags or the manifesto has not been divulged by authorities.
Officers in Las Vegas, who usually work solo, have draped their shields in black and each has a partner for the foreseeable future.
The officers, slain in the restaurant have been identified as 42-year-old Alyn Beck and 32-year-old Igor Soldo. According to reports, both are family men.
The identities of the slain woman at Walmart or the shooters has not been released by authorities.
