Alaska State Troopers were notified by Fairbanks police that emergency personnel responding to the scene of a four wheeler rollover in Two Rivers early Saturday morning.
Troopers dispatched to the scene of just after 1:30 AM on Saturday. When they arrived, they were informed that the driver of the four wheeler, 55-year-old Daniel Begis of Two Rivers had died in the crash.
The trooper investigation at the scene “determined that Begis was traveling southbound on Grange Hall Road at an unknown speed. He lost control of the four wheeler causing the four-wheeler to roll over several times,”the trooper dispatch reported. It was reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
After the investigation, troopers say that they suspect that alcohol was a factor in the wreck. Begis’s remains were sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage for autopsy.
